When my car was getting some work done last week they said the wheel well liner was shot, they zip tied it up so it wouldn’t run. Said $600 to replace. I’m thinking that’s maybe something an amateur like myself and a friend with a Jack and some tools could do.

Where do you all get parts for stuff like this?

Consider salvage yard.

Such an odd ball item to get damaged unless it was damaged removing it for other work.

That's what I thought. And why not both sides? Why not the rear?

I’ll see if I can get a pic. So odd that it’s just one side, unless I ran over something that really tore it up but you’d think I’d remember that.

Well don't know how are the prices in the US, but I got the front well liner in Europe for like 200$ brand new. Mine was eaten by the tire for some reason. So far, no issues with the new one.

If you need to replace it then look on www.car-part.com for a junk yard part. Their search engine is a bit limited in words to search with but if you can find an A7 or S7 near you with the front end still in good shape you should be able to pick it up from them for much less than a new part.

I just bought one from carparts.com (different site than above). They sell new parts. Pretty decently priced. It just showed up today, seems fine but didn't install it yet. You could check there if you wanted.

Link (https://www.carparts.com/search?q=Fender_liner&vehicle[cylinders]=6&vehicle[liter]=3%2E0&vehicle[submodel]=Premium_Plus&vehicle[model]=A6_Quattro&vehicle[make]=Audi&vehicle[year]=2012)

Finding the hardware is the bigger pain.

Thanks for the link. I found that site as well, I think, when I was searching.

Were you by chance getting suspension work done when they said the liner was bad? The liner has to be removed for suspension work and if so there is a chance that the shop broke it and is trying to put the squeeze on your wallet.
