Ok so I had a cracked wheel, the tire shop ordered me a replacement. They are advanti 20x10. The cracked wheel actually shredded the tire a bit and messed it up so I had to get a brand new tire. 265/35/20 Michelin pilot sport 4s. The other 3 tires are still in good shape about 4K miles on them, but now I have the brand new tire on the rear right with the brand new wheel. After picking it up from the tire shop I drove home and it feels good and drives straight, when I let go of the steering wheel the car stays straight. BUT when I floor it and do a pull the car pulls to the left very noticeable to the point I have to straighten the car out . What could this be?! Thanks!!

You should probably be replacing tires in pairs, idk how worn the other three tires but if their is significant wear difference between the old one adjacent to the new it could affect traction and alignment. Might want to get an alignment check and see if the new tire is throwing the toe outta wack slightly.

Not sure if its your problem, but I agree with Loki. I would never replace a single tire. The overall diameter will not match the others since they have 4k on them. That could mean 15-20% less tread on the other tires since those summer tires wear more quickly. I would start with an alignment and see if that can compensate for the difference.

I wouldn’t think 4k miles would affect it that badly. I’d think more that the tire is just new. New tires have virtually no traction. Give it some time to break in before aligning the car.

Nothing is going to "break in", and an alignment is unnecessary. You have a taller tire on the right rear, and it is driving the car left when under power, very simple. Drop the RR tire to 20 PSI and I bet the issue goes away.

I never it thought it would affect it that much either but I had this happen a couple years ago on my passat, had 4 new tires one got destroyed by nail or bolt in it and replaced the single tire. After replacing one tire it def felt like my car was pulling slightly even after an alignment. I ended up finding a local Indy that did Tire Shaving, so I had them shave the new tire slightly to match the wear of the adjacent tire and it fixed the pulling issue. I probably had about 5k miles on the tires, cant remember exactly but the tires were only about 6 months old when i had to replace a single tire. Retrospect prob would of been better to buy just two new tires but the Indy shop shaved the tire for about $40 and I was being cheap at the time lol

Let’s not forget that 4K miles is somewhere around 20-25% of the usable life of a PS4S.

I actually was reading about the tiring shaving. Do you guys think it’s a good idea? Because if I don’t i read it might mess up my drivetrain being an AWD car with only one new tire. I’d rather shave some life off my new tire then pay $1200 for 3 more tires.

Could be anything. If you want to test if it's the tire, swap the rear tires and see if the car now pushes right.
Yeah, if you are getting a single new tire, and can get an accurate unloaded diameter measurement of the other tire you'll be pairing the new tire with, it would be good to have the new one matched down to its partner.
