Hello Guys,

I own a 2017 Audi A6 3.0T and I recently replaced all my brake pads and rotors for both rear and front (Akebono Ceramics + Zimmerman Coated) and they feel great, HOWEVER, the car is 'braking' on its own when I leave it to coast. The speed goes down by -2km/h every second when none of the pedals are touched and you can feel the car 'braking' and it seems as it comes from the front brakes. I have checked all the brakes for this issue and I see no problem, but the wear pattern on the front right rotor is a bit different than the rest. It seems as if the caliper pistons might be stuck and they don't retrieve back and it constantly grinds on the rotor even when not braking.
As of the rear brakes, yes, I do have VCDS and everything went perfect. What could it be? A broken brake hose? Stuck caliper pistons? It is driving me nuts! (Also, the steering randomly became a bit heavier after changing them)

I have worked on another C7 A6 before and never had this problem. Maybe the caliper hose went under some stress and needs replacing? I have a mechanics appointment on Wednesday and until then, I will not be driving my car for any safety issue plus I do not want to put much miles on my new rotors like that.

What do you guys think it could be? If you guys suggest replacing any component, which website would be the least expensive? RockAuto? FCP (lifetime warranty tho)? Thank you a lot for the help in advance.

When you did your brakes, did you clean and regrease your caliper slide pins?

Yes, every slide pins were greased up, multiple times even. Can’t seem to know what the problem is but i’m suspecting either faulty caliper pistons or tensioned brake hose. Rear rotors look good and the wear pattern is normal. Just the front right one looks sus tho. What do you think?

Dumb question, did you by chance twist the caliper/brake line when doing the work?

No such thing as dumb question brother, but actually it might have happened. However, i used something to suspend it (s-shaped metallic hanger) but I might have twisted it by mistake, who knows. Can’t test it actually since I don’t have the tools anymore, but the mechanics appointment is in two days and hopefully it’s not something big but just a twisted hose.
