Does anybody rent these out these days or is buying one the only option? Need one to install my new SC pulley. Let me know if you can help me out!

It does, however, look like it SHOULD work no issue. I have an IE pulley if it makes any difference and they have made me paranoid by expressly stating that trying to pull their pulley (God forbid it doesn't seat correctly on the first try) with any other company's tool will void any warranties on the part. Probably overthinking it though...

3.0 s.c. pulley is a 3.0 s.c. pulley. As far as the IE pulley installation...has nothing to do with the pulley tool. or, is it that you have an IE sc charger pulley on now ??

No, I have stock pulley. My concern is if the IE pulley didn't seat correctly and cooled down and had to be removed to retry correct installation. If all goes as it should, you're right, I can use ANY pulley tool to simply remove stock pulley. Thanks for the replies, I'll just pull the trigger on one of the available for sale ones.

I’d love to understand how IE can prove what tool you used, but that sounds like a bunch of over-warning nonsense to me provided you don’t use a jaw type tool.
When I had a CTS tool, I rented it out until someone offered to buy it from me but after a few uses that type tends to bread down a bit.
For your press on of the new pulley, I suggest bringing a convection toaster oven, if you have one, as close to the car as possible and leave it in the oven while you do all the disassembly and service mode position. By the time you’re ready, that pulley should be nice and hot and slide on without any issues.

I thought as much (regarding the over-warning you mentioned) plus it drives sales for them I'm sure. I have a toaster oven ready to go and my tech at my Toyota dealership is a former Audi tech so has plenty of experience with these types of things so I'm over-worrying. Thanks for the advice!

And hit the snout with a upside down can of compressed air to super chil it. Hot pulley and cold snout makes it slide on easy.
