Installing rear drive shaft into transmission

Ok, so it looks like the rear drive shaft popped out of the tranny when engine was swapped. What's the trick into knocking shaft in. When I put some pressure on the shaft into tranny, it feels like the mate. But I knock with hammer, seems to keep bouncing of locking clip.

Don, do you have a copy of the factory manuals? It should show driveshaft installation.

I can't pull it for you now since I'm not in front of my pc.

Little late, but when I connected mine back together, I had to put a small pick under the boot to release the c-clip inside. That allows the shaft to slip all the way on.
