a buddy of mine has a 00 S4 with 100k on the clock. it is AWE stg 3 with KO4s, clutch, Bailey DV30\'s, the DUH frontmount intercooler(only one in utah), stasis coilovers, stasis rear limited slip and center differential, 18\\\" ADR rims, ecodes, HID upgrade to 12000k, borla 3\\\" exhaust with AWE downpipes(no cats), 50 shot of direct port NOS, APR BI pipe, all the gauges, radar detectors, dvd player in dash, alarm with remote start and turbo timer. and so many other things i cant even think of cause it goes LITERALLY ON and ON...

8 months on the KO4s and about 2 years on the other things. selling it cause he wants to be \\\"more of a business man\\\"

the thing is putting out 500+hp with the NOS
asking price is $25,000.

am i a complete idiot for passing this up? im scared to by heavily modded cars. especially and S4

i currently have a 01 1.8T that im planning on going BT by next year with about 350+hp as my goal.

PERSONALLY... i would probably never buy a car that has already been modded..

ruins the fun..and sometimes can be scary lol.. but then again thats my opinion

The car sounds like a beast. Although I would be VERY hesitant on buying a car that has been that heavily modded. The miles and the fact that it was driven hard would be a turn off. IMO

i am afraid for its reliability. but with the purchase of the car and all modds it has it would total $50,000+. so if i got it and about crapped out about ten grand in repairs i would still be like $20,000 ahead right

moded cars are usally worth less then if they were left stock....Unless you sell alll the parts off the car seperatly

it depends on what you're looking for. ALL Modded cars are somewhat "unreliable". a car like that is going to take money to maintain and a certain amount of wrenching.

Personally, though I love building my own cars, I would buy it if it's really that good of a car. I mean if it's well done and clean, I would buy it.

I would probably say yes in an instant if I had the money, but that's because I'm a huge sucker for B5 S4's especially ones making huge power. However, the fact that it has over 100k miles and that it is so heavily modded means that it more than likely wasn't exactly babied...

On the other side... There IS alot of money into that car, alot of money that you potentially won't have to spend to have an S4 like that. But then again that does take the fun out of modding the car... It's a catch 22 - your call.

well the engines what arent usually go on a s4... its the turbos and that is were you spend the big bucks replacing. it has new turbos 8 months ago so idk it could be somewhat reliable i guess

i'd buy it. i wouldn't hesitate as long as he can prove it was well maintained.
