View Full Version : Replacing Rear Upper Control Arm - WHY SO DIFFICULT!?

Ok, maybe it's me, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to replace the upper control arm in the rear. To remove the bolt, there's not enough clearance as I hit the gas tank (on the right side). I'm guessing I have to remove the subframe to do so? Such a PITA....any advise or tips on how to do this?

Thanks

I enquired once with 034 why there isn’t an adjustable rear upper and they said because of the labour involved with changing it. Unfortunately it’s a subframe off job they said

The rear camber is already adjustable, unlike the front camber which Audi designed nonadjustable. As documented in the workshop manual, always good to start with the instructions to see what's got to happen before getting into the task, you have to drop the fuel tank to create clearance to remove that bolt.
