So i have a stage 3 s6, this weekend it got an ethanol sensor, srm fuel lines, autotech fuel pumps upgrade, and DS1, it threw a code p2096 and p2196, faulty 02 sensor, before this weekend i have never seen this set of codes. Its also running E44 right now. Code appeared with cruise control on and did the same code with 93 in the tank. Lambda for both banks reads right around the 1.00 mark.

Thanks for the help in advance

Well, if not tuned, it's covered by an AoA warranty extension to 10/100 or 10/120... Then there's APR...

If you have aftermarket downpipes that don't cross over the trans like the stock ones do, check to make sure your rear oxygen sensors are in the correct position.

I had a bunch of random oxygen sensor codes pop up after I installed the same upgrades. The shop that installed the downpipes for the previous owner put the sensors in the wrong position - bank 1 to bank 1 and bank 2 to bank 2.

Correctly installed, the sensor plugged into the harness on bank 1 crosses over to the downpipe on bank 2 and vice versa for the other bank. After I corrected their positions, the codes went away.

The light can be cleared and drove around for awhile before showing up, it does have downpipes and has never ran this code since ive owned the car, not until i ran DS1 stage 3. Thats what i dont get, could it be because the downpipes dont have the factory 02 bung locations?

The recall for the Bosch O2 sensors is because they are known and have been proven to go bad. If you're using your original sensors, that's probably what has happened, the sensor crapped out. 2 of mine died on MY2108, which is a few years newer than yours, and likely far less mileage If you've been running those downpipes for a while with no issues, I'd suspect O2 sensor went bad. I know a warranty extension doesn't help you get new ones, but it does show that there is a known and common issue with them.

Good to know, you know if there was a part update? Or if its the same part? Didnt see these codes til i flashed with DS1 so i was thinking it could possibly be running lean since i dont always have it logging, but when i check lambda is good. Thanks

Yes, the same thing was happening to me. My car never had the codes until I flashed the upgraded fuel file in DS1. Did you see if the rear O2s are crossed like they should be?

mine threw some codes for 02 sensor also the other day, was on a road trip and just cruising at highway speeds, also had some misfires in there also, has been running fine since though. i cleared the codes and weirdly my exhaust valves have been opening and closing more frequently

My car runs fine, and even the lambda is showing .9-1.1 thats what i dont get, the 02 sensors being swapped makes no sense, but ive put 40k miles on it this way other than the resent upgrades, which wasnt downpipes

EGT’s are at 670°C at 70miles per hour on e55 i got a bank 1 lean code with a cat code, as i bought this car with catless already

Driver side is bank 1 sensor 1, and bank 2 sensor 2
Passenger side is bank 2 sensor 1 and bank 1 sensor 2 right?
Both passenger side sensors are on the passenger side of the car and the same goes for the sensors on the drivers side of the car.

I lied mine does look like that, cause your downpipes werent crossed, so mine is correct, but dont understand the p2096 and p2196 codes

Have you read this thread (https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/848565-Check-Engine-light-randomly-came-in-Code-P2096)?

Has the same codes..

Not sure if this (https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10149108-9999.pdf) helps at all...
