Hi All,

I am planning to buy a used ECU chipped by Giac. It is out of a 99.5 1.8T FWD Manual, and my car is 99.5 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic. His ECU number ends with 557P and mine ends with 559C.

Using the serach option, I found out that these ECU's are swapable. But it requires playing with soft coding with Vag-Com.

My questions are:

1) Although the ECU's are compatible, do you think the Giac chip will make a difference? Do I need to have the giac chip reprogrammed to fit into a Quattro Tiptronic?

2) How can I change the soft coding with Vagcom (I have it), where can I find the prcedure? (numerical values to be entered etc.)

3) Has any of you did this before?

Thanks a lot.
ps: I have searched this, but couldn't find a direct answer.
