Struggling to get the last bit of trapped air out of my system. Vacuum filled the car at 24in had no issues holding vacuum. Ive bleed the SC but when trying to bleed the heater core I don’t really get much if any coolant flowing from the hole on the hose even at 2k rpm.
The B8 doesn’t have the small bleeder hole on the metal pipe (idk if theres usually one or it’s on B8.5), just bleeder hole on the hose so you have to pull the hose back till it’s near the the lip of the HC pipe.

My car heats up to 80C, measuring by VCDS, but haven’t gotten it to over 81C (ambient temps about 60F). I just ordered a coolant/radiator funnel kit so I can raise the reservoir height and will try bleeding that way.
Any one have success bleeding with these?

you shouldnt need to really bleed the heater..

turn the heater on high heat/low speed.
raise the front of your car as much as possible. let it idle a bit and start burping the reservoir and each bleeder 1 at a time. do this a few times of the course of a few days.

as long as your cact is getting temps of around 20-25* over ambient you should be good.

Shouldn’t the coolant temp be around 90-95 deg C though? I still see the needle dip a tiny bit below half way when the CTS temp is 79-80C. And what do you mean by burping the reservoir? As in opening the reservoir cap while it runs and let the air burp out ?

my apologies, can you provide the conversion to Fahrenheit

UPDATE:
The Lisel funnel is trash for those interested.

The funnel adapter for VW does not make a tight seal nor do any of the adapters that came with it for the funnel part, so you cannot place the funnel securely and bleed the system by raising the reservoir height with this. In fact when trying to over fill the reservoir I had no clue there is a small overflow hole that just dumps coolant out the side of the reservoir (ask me how I know). Straight Garbage IMO.

Instead I jacked up just the drivers side to raise the reservoir and ran the car no cap began bleeding the system again. This time I squeezed the Heater core hose repeatedly trying to force the air out and could here it moving through the system, eventually I couldnt hear any air near the HC.

The bleed hole for the coolant system is in the metal pipe from the firewall. You just back the hose off the right side pipe and there's the hole.

The process is at the start of the Cooling System section in the engine workshop manual.

you still need a tall coolant fill funnel to get all the air out through that bleed hole
