Did some searching but only found one or two posts about this.

On Friday went through some deep snow a couple of times on my way to work and the car was fine (as usual).
But later in the afternoon I went to run an errand and after starting the car it shook semi strong and shut off.
Second attempt got the same result.
Third attempt it started but got the "Sport Differential: system fault" but the car was idling fine.
Drove down the street and the car shut off (while in motion) then turned back on so I turned around and went back to the office with thoughts of getting a tow to my local Indy shop (Almost Racing).
But after I got back to the office I thought I would attempt one more start and luckily it started totally fine with no errors.
Ran my errands and the car has been fine ever since.

Pulled a ton of codes (using VagCom) but after clearing them none have come back.

Has this happened to others?

Thx

I would check all connections and plugs for water intrusion. That’s the first thing that comes to mind

I find it always useful to save codes after malfunctions. Sometimes I also sort them by time of occurrence to better understand the succession of events that lead to a malfunction.
Just reseting DTC's will not "fix" the issue, if there's one.

Yes I did save the codes. Always do.

I'd suggest to take a look at this: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/P0491

The only code related to the sport diff is the J492. The secondary air issues are a common, unrelated code.

Sent from my SM-G991U1 using Audizine Forum mobile app (http://r.tapatalk.com/byo?rid=87676)

Yes agreed.
And the more I look into this the more I feel it was the snow getting into the wrong place.
I'll be at the dealer on Thursday for an unrelated issue and ask them to take a close look....

I wouldn't worry about it..... Has happened to me a few times - I bet it's snow messing with a sensor - just had my diff fluid changed and the shop found no issues at all.

I've had ABS lights pop up in my Subaru due to snow - white stuff sticks to odd sensors - but sure is fun to drive in![drive]
