I am trying to figure out the story behind the Supercharged badge. Was this an add-on or part of an optional package?

My 2016 S4 is quite loaded but has the V6T logo.

I guess I'm curious which cars originally had it and which had the V6T emblem?

Thanks! Matt

I think the A6 models had them stock. I don’t think they ever came stock on s4 models. Maybe someone can verify.

I think it was a standalone option when I ordered my 2015

All 3 of my s4s came with the badge (2 red flags/ and the cf one)

my 2011 came with a badge, but, as I recollect, this was an option as V6 was stock. I purchased the car from dealer who's sales manager used it before me for 4200 miles.

The “supercharged” badges on my car were part of the alu optics package.

Ok, that's interesting. My 2016 has the Black Optics package but with the V6T. Plot thickens I guess...

My 2013 zero option car only has the S4 badge on the bottom-left of the trunk, nothing at all on the fenders or anywhere else besides the Audi logos front and rear. The PO could have debadged it, which is fine, that shit looks tacky.

The supercharged badge started with the C6.5 A6, where the 3.0T initiated. That's why it has a 4F parts bin part number: 4F0 853 601

For the C7 A6/A7, the part number rolled to 4F0 853 601 A 2ZZ and the flag was changed to red.

For the B8 products, the supercharged inscription was never used. Only V6T. Per the Audi parts catalog.
If you look at the US 2015 order guide, we see that AoA offered a port installed accessory of the supercharged badge to replace the V6T (I assume this is the red flag one), or an alu-optic package with side sills and supercharged badges (the carbon flag one based on the previously posted link). So AoA just taking parts and making it an option to modify the vehicle that the factory produced.

"8K0 071 685 A" doesn't exist in the parts catalog. But 8K0 071 685 does, it's the primed for painting wide side sills accessory, the bigger component of that AoA alu-optic port accessory package.

As I recall, my 2011 S4 had the V6T badges as standard, but we ordered the carbon fiber supercharged badges as a port-installed option, which at the time (late 2010) were in the neighborhood of $150/pair.
