Great Service Shops (not dealer) Near Sarasota (and brakes)?

Well, seems somehow my brakes and rotors are shot at the same time, which seems odd to me since I haven't had pads replaced before. At 30,000 miles so not surprised by pads at all, but dealer claims "brake technology has changed" and brakes and rotors tend to wear out around same time.

$2,300 for brakes and rotors from dealer!!!! So looking for more cost effective but quality shops in the Sarasota area. Anyone got any recommendations?

Also curious what others are doing for replacements. Sticking with stock or are there some better non-Brembo options to go with? (yes, I know .. I'll search)

Brakes, yes there are a lot of threads on the subject matter. Personally, I user power stop Z26 pads. Lifechanging brake dust reduction, stop the car just fine. Many others here on the forums use them as well. For rotors, tell us what car you have, as a/s/rs have different sizes. If its an S, the 400mm front rotors, there are only a couple of options out there.

I suggest Panzer (south of the skyway - ask for Tom) and Crown Motorsports (north of the skyway - ask for Evan).

Panzer did my front rotors and brakes (I went with powerstop as well. thank goodness for the lack of dust/grime)

Rotors don’t tend to go bad at the same time as pads. If the rotors are warped then consider changing them as you probably can’t turn the warp out of them. If the rotor is still smooth then they need to measure the thickness to determine if they are bad.

If you can do the work yourself then you can get rotors and ceramic pads for both front and back for $600.

And also you should be able to get more than 30k miles from a set unless you are hard on the brakes or mostly city driving.

Panzer did great job but they went with Akebono pads and they still FRIGGIN SQUEAK!!! do the power stop pads squeak too?

I dont believe Akebono makes front pads. (only rears, which I have and they dont squeak or dust)
