Hi guys,

I can't decide which BT should I buy I want at around 350-400 hp and after changeing internals 450 or more.
I know 2871r is capable aroun 400 but I want more ý don't want to change the turbo again.
Maybe 3071R or GT35R ??
What type of exh.manifold do I use ?

what kind of car are you trying to build?

if you're going to swap internals then might as well look into the GT30 or GT35 if money isn't a big issue.

Haha sorry ! I had 1999 A4 1.8TQ.
I am thhinking 3071r or 35xxR but when I first start 300-350 before changing internals ,how this Bt's perform.

i have a gt3076r

atw engine code, stock small port head and stock internals w/ scat rods

full boost a little past 4k...really nice street turbo

made around 400hp @ 6k rpm's @ the crank last time @ the dyno...should be a little higher now

30r is capable of 500-600hp

im running an atp (atpturbo.com) manifold, t3 flange

3071 will give you a little bit quicker spool (smaller wheels) and is available w/ a t25 or t3 flange, internal or external wastegate

i would skip the 3071 and go straight for the 3076 though [up]

Kompresed.. How much boost are you running now that your fueling is on point?

i was running ~23psi daily

i now have it @ 20psi

daily driving...no need for anything over 20 really...dyno pulls..that will be a different story

How long before you dyno again?

k0mpresd

no idea

maybe sometime this fall/winter when its cooler outside

ive always heard gt wheels dont really start to perform till boost is over 20psi

3076r should be good for anywhere from 32-36psi

What software are you running ,Turbine Housing A/R and is your wastegate internal ?

im running upsolute bt software...not the most aggressive or the best tune..but the car does run/drive fairly smooth..the car is daily driven

software is written for a 28rs using a vr6 maf housing and 440cc injectors

i am running a descreened vr6 housing and siemens deka 630cc injectors

somewhat tuned w/ lemmiwinks

turbine housing is .63

external wastegate

Do you guys know ATP manifold has wasgate flange on it or Should I buy the turbo with wasgate on it. I never use an external wastegate. How can you adjust the wastegate ?

atp's have a flange for an external gate...you have to use some sort of extension because the motor mount is in the way

i would suggest buying a turbo w/ an internal gate..would make your life a lot easier

You would???

What about flow?

k0mpresd

flow would be fine if he chose to go w/ the 3071...for a 3076 i would say get an external however internals can be had w/ either the t25 or the t3 flange turbines...t25 w/ internals are way more popular though...dizzy (quickk03crap) runs a 3076r, t25 flange w/ an internal gate

hes never used an external gate before

the motor mount is a pita to work around

plumbing the gate will be more work

he'd either have to run a custom dump tube (loud) or reroute it back into the downpipe (even more plumbing involved)

these are all decisions he has to make for himself though

I have a internal gate on my 50 trim t3t/t4 and from what I've read/been told, that's about as big a turbo to run w/ a internal gate....

How did you plumb your dump tube?

not as close to the axle as it looks in the pic...its just the angle..it clears everything w/ room to spare

The GT2871R is a nasty little turbo, but develops torque too quick at too low of an rpm. go with pretty much any GT3076 as they're quite a few different trims out there, or just go with the GT3082 for the most streetable/ high hp goal turbo. I've found this unit to perform great and build boost quite fast.
