I got a warning on my dash saying “sport differential system fault”. I scanned the car using the OBDeleven and I got the code “C100313” and it says “Audi all wheel drive pump open circuit”. I noticed that I hear a whining/grinding noise coming from the diff whenever I’m on the gas but when I let off I hear a mild drone as the car slows down. Any ideas on what’s going on or what part that needs to be replaced?

I’d say with the differential noises you’re listing and a “sport diff light” that the rear is diff is gone by now. You’ll have to find a good used one to replace yours. Far as I know there’s no rebuild kits for these.

Possibly too late, but consider not driving it anymore until the problem is sorted out.

There is a rebuild/repair kit that includes a new pump and seals, but that likely isn’t the problem based on the OPs statements. Kit for reference - https://parts.audiusa.com/a/Audi_2014_S6/68849587__6226180/REAR-SUSPENSION-AXLE--DIFFERENTIAL/1353727.html#5
It could be the sensors that are on the diff, but with the grinding noise, it doesn’t seem likely as well. When mine failed, it almost sounded like a bad wheel bearing; only making noise when turning the corner while applying throttle.

Thanks for the info, going to see if I can get my hands on a used one for now. Those things are expensive.

www.car-part.com to help with the used search. Its a nationwide junk yard search engine.
I just looked and got best results by looking for CARRIER. They specify torque vectoring or non torque vectoring
