This may help someone.

In my 2016 RS7, my stock carrier failed, probably during a launch. So I purchased the JBX carrier.

I installed it, and had an extreme amount of vibration at 65 and above that shook the whole vehicle. It was nuts.

I reached out to Jay, and he sent me some bushings, and some things to try to solve the issue.

Right off the bat, I used the most invasive method, by removing some material from the bushings as recommended, and put in two washer on each side of the carrier where they meet.

The holes soften the bushings a bit, and the washers provide a bit of space to ease the clamping force on the bearing.

The vibration is completely gone. Nothing. No noise either.

So, if you decide to go this route, and do not want vibration or noise, you may want to perform this from the beginning.

Thanks to Jay, for the help! Car is nice and smooth again!

Thank you for sharing this! I don't normally spend time in this subforum but happened to notice the title of your thread pop up on the homepage. I, too, experienced a considerable increase in NVH when I upgraded to the JXB bushing on my 2013 RS5. Good to know there's a remedy if it doesn't settle in over time.

If you ever happen to be on a dyno, it would be interesting to film the carrier to see if any significant driveshaft movement was introduced. Regardless, a clever approach. Also, good way to run a business by keeping the customer happy.

I have the carrier installed too and after 3k miles of driving with it, have yet to feel any NVH…zero vibrations. Trans shifts feel tighter and smoother though since the install.

Interesting. I have a slight vibration from 55 or so and up, but my driveshaft does have some marking on it from rubbing on something. (Wasn’t during my ownership). I thought it was just off balance. I may have to try this at some point. I have a slight gap on each side of the carrier and Jay told me it was normal.

Mine was to the point I didn't even want to drive the car on the freeway at all. I'm so happy I did it.

Drove on the freeway again this morning and smooth as silk.

What I understand is that if you replace the carrier before any CV damage occurs, you may have minimal to no additional NVH at all. Mine was most likely damaged during a launch, and that's why I was getting the extreme vibration.

Give the holes a shot. Reach out to Jay and he may provide some washers for you and or bushings if you request it. Totally recommend this fix for anyone that is getting vibration.
