just went out and did a few runs after changing the fuel filter and doing a quick TBA via VAG-COM. only drove long enough to warm up the car then started logging. the ambient temps were a chilly 65* F. I seem to be running a bit lean but i think i can blame it on the shitty TAP programming, but suprisingly i hold 15 psi. oh well i did pretty good anyway...

CAPS Time: 7.44 [up]

Better than my 9.66 caps times with more mods than you... I REALLY need to get my shit fixed!! I just dunno what is wrong with it... No one will help me out...

thats to bad i hope you get it figured out.
my car came with the tap chip already on it when i bought it and it seems to be running pretty well after a year of me fixing little things. my only complaint is that the program runs a shitload of timing, i still had a CF of up to 3.5/4 with 65* weather and new plugs. and im considering getting a adjustable fpr just to make it a little safer. any suggestions?

how do you have a 710N and a forge blowoff valve?

i have both and i was switching back and forth to see if there were any negative effects of the 004. im currently running th 004

i had a discussion with one of the forge reps at waterfest about how good the 004 was for the 1.8t, he said to go with the 007, or the 006 which is a little beefier, as for my best caps time i think it was 7.09, i need to do it again since i just did a bunch of maintenance

i've read many diferent things on here about the 004. for me it works great, very good throttle response when shifting, great sound(not ricey at all), and it doesnt seem to run noticebly richer at all. i love it

Hey Sal, what year are you? I have gotten PM's from three other people with 2001's that should have WAY better caps times with mods, like myself... Seems that 2001's for some reason don't like caps times...

sal, have you dyno'd?

yeah, your time is very slow for your mods...which is wierd.

No, not yet. I'm still waiting on parts to redo my intake. I think I've gotten all my exhaust leaks on the manifold and cat side. I'm boosting +1-2 psi since I made my CAPS run.

I also think that I have a really small boost leak or my DV is sticking, so I need to check that, as Baileys, apparently, are notorious for that sort of thing. Sounds like I do.

I've read that faulty PCV check valves can cause boost problems. I need to service my PCV system anyway.

I'm an 01. I've compared my logs to another FX'er and my actual boost definitely lower throughout the RPM band compared to the other FX'er. Spec boost is the same.

With 96k on the clock, stuff like this is bound to happen.

If I manage to get my ATP tip by the end of the week, I'm going to work this weekend to resolve as much of these issues as possible.

Then, I'll hit the dyno.

I did something like a 7.6 with APR chip + 170lbs worth of passenger. Temp was in the 50's

i ran a 7.09 in 83 deg weather right after a thunder storm, i should do one now that the temps are cooler and i just did some maintenance (plugs, air filter)
