View Full Version : S6 Caliper Pad Retaining Pins Part #??

Title pretty much sums up the question.
I did the brake pads on my 2014 S6 and found a couple of the bolt/pins that retain the pads were stripped out by the previous servicer [headbang] I was able to get enough of them out to slip the pads over them, but I'd like to replace them because a couple have wear from pads that were allowed to rub on them without a buffer!
I have looked and searched but can't some up with a part number separate from the calipers themselves. Either they are named some obscure title or they don't come separate.
Anyone got this in their files??
Cheers!

I didn't even touch those when I replaced my pads nearly 2 months ago.

Typically I wouldn't either... but as I'm 4 months into owning it and have a touch of OCD... stripped fasteners drive me bonkers!!!
Additionally, the side with the "excessive" wear has a clunk on harder stop and gos that I'm trying to find and it's a simple test... or so I thought!

Gotcha.
You may have luck calling up your dealer's parts guy and asking if they have those and/or can give you the part #. Otherwise, try taking one to Fastenal or other local fastener store.

Local parts guy is a useless fudd and we'll leave it at that or I'll say something mean.
No one will have a metric shoulder threaded pin (already checked Endries and Fastenall catalogs), but I'm thinking that I could find a bolt and chuck it up in the lathe and make some.
Just trying for the quick way first... then I'll succumb to the only way later!

Well... I still don't have an honest part number... but in searching a dozen different ways over the last couple of hours, I figured why not look for Brembo branded rebuild parts. After all, they are Brembo brakes, right?
Took a couple different variations on the search but.... HAZAAAA!!!! Centric Parts Part# is 117.33043
They are actually avail on Amazon!!! [:D][wrench][:D] And about a dozen other retailers (Summit, CarID, RockAuto...)

Hope this helps others find it easier!!
