Oil cap extension

2007 A3 Auto gas.

What is this extension or adapter between the valve cover and the oil filler cap? I'm trying to find one, without it, trying to get the cap off is difficult as you have to reach down thru the air cleaner assy. Unless you have small hands, it's a PITA.

I believe it's "molded" with the valve cover.

It's removable from the valve cover, but I think you're probably right that it's part of the cover. Audi does list the tube for 2019, but I doubt it would fit. I'm trying to find that out,but I believe it's different from a 2007.

Very different. It got different right from EA888 gen (in 2009 IIRC?).

I did find several sellers listing on eBay for $65 new. That's worth it (IMHO). It's a PITA reaching down inside the hole in the air cleaner assy to access the filler cap. It's my daughter's A3 and even with her much smaller hand, it's difficult.

then take the occasion to buy a new gasket. it's 10 bucks and a recurrent source of oil leaks.
