I currently have unitrronic stage 2 hpfp will all recommend and required upgrades. I want to go to stage 2+ (KO4). Question is.... When I go for emissions test the hook up to OBDII for readiness checks. I have to drop back to atock tune temporarily. Will the new injectors and KO4 still automatically adjust to stock tune? Everything went fine from stage 2 hpfp back to stock for inspection/test.

K04 should be fine on a stock file. Ya run into more issues when running one on a stage 1/2 map. Ya could always unplug the,n75, and plug in a spare, to run on WG spring pressure, if you have any overboost issues. But should be fine.

Tune files by unitronic are already made to pass emissions. My k04 2+ unitronic passed the sniffer and obd2.
Don’t touch anything. Take it in claim ignorance and let them test the car. The tune file does not have unitronic attached to it. They got smarter when they released the revised stage 2+ file that a bunch of us got together and asked for unitronic to produce. If you have an issue id contact unitronic and ask for the Canadian emissions tune, could be called version 2 of the 2+ file.

(Stage 2 HPFP) I thought it turned off the rear 02 sensor? I have a high flow cat and 02 spacer for good measure.

I doubt they can detect a tune over ODBII during emissions tests.
I have yearly tests for emissions and it's been fine with an HFC on stage 3.

I have yearly tests for emissions and it's been fine with an HFC on stage 3.I was mostly concerned about the readiness check. Not the tune itself. I was told that the tune turns off the rear O2 sensor to prevent a CEL code. I was concerned that going to the next step 2+ with KO4 would still function with no errors on stock tune if temporarily necessary. It's a lot of work to swap out the turbo for an emissions test. LoL

It’s no issues mate. The Audi VW ECU is smarter then any government agent. Readiness is easy software to fabricate. It’s either an answer of 1 (yes I’m good) or 0 (turn on cell). One can make that data hard coded which result in readiness reads as good all the time.

Have you checked rediness yourself, to see if its good or not? Quick check with vcds will tell ya, then you'll know for sure.

I guess I should be able to check this in VCDS. I just had the tuner turn off my code on the second O2 sensor.

Last question. Not completely related. But, kinda.... I see a few items related to the KO4 upgrade that states "I may need a new clutch" I only have 48k on this sexy lil beast. Is this a thing? Will the extra stress possiblity damage the OEM clutch? I would like to work out all the loose ends before I go sleeper pimp style. And.... Do you have to get tacos with the little round tortillas or can I get the big ones without being labeled? Asking for a friend.....

Yes the dual mass flywheels split under factory power with no tune. Complete turd. Best bet is at minimum rs4 pressure plate and disc with your choose of upgraded flywheel.
034 aluminum is an excellent choice. Then order a luk rs4 plate and disc from Europe eBay $169.99 usd last time I ordered a pressure plate and disc. I know where there’s a aluminum flywheel looking for a new home too.

Not even just that, the oem clutch will probably start slipping with the torque of a K04. So even if the shitty OEM dual mass doesn't fail, the disc will most likely start slipping and heat everything up and then slip even more. And then the flywheel will fail, haha.
But yea plenty of good choices now for OEM-like feel and much higher clamping force and thus more power headroom.

Pick up a rear main seal while your at it. The billet ones are great but budget minded and age of car factory one will seal up any future leak.

Isn't this where someone jumps in and says, "put down the crack pipe man". But, instead you load a new bowl and hand me a lighter. LMAO. Guess I can't afford the passenger ejector seat now. [emoji12][emoji1303]
