I'm getting a set of BBS CH 18x8 wheels for my car and I was wondering what size of tire I should run in the front/rear without any rubbing. I am installing a set of S4 H&R coilovers this weekend and I plan to pretty much dump it. What size should I get if I don't want to worry about rubbing or rolling my fenders?

what is the offset on the rims?

You can probably get 215-235 and be ok.

Depends on the offset. I'm running 225/40-18 Conti SportContact2s on my 18x8" 35mm offset wheels and had to roll my front fenders. Even then, I still rub the fender liners on occasion when the wheel is turned alot and I'm going up a driveway or something.

Not sure about the offset yet...but they are the ones that come stock on the 2006 S4...so I'm assuming that its close to the rs4 wheels.

I'm running 18x8.5 CHs w/ 225-40-18s dropped to 24.75 inches (ground to fender).....S4 H&R coilovers too, and no rubbing issues whatsoever. I drive in NYC every wkend too. I know for a fact I'd probably have to roll my fenders if I were to ever go 235s.

what brand & model tire are you using? Right now I'm on Bridgestone Potenza S03s. On my DPE rims, I was running Kumho MXs 225/40/18s and had rubbing issues. Believe it or not, the tire make made a difference.

225/40 18x8 et38 25" ground to fender, only rubs on very hard turns while hitting a bump, with Koni coilovers

225/40 up front and 245/35 on the rears
no rubbing
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx
tires do make a difference as said above. a rounder sidewall vs a more square sidewall helps.

i dont know ground to fender, but im running 225/40/18 and they rub if my fenders arent rolled. a little while back i got into a car accident and they rubbed when i got the new fender on. it would pretty much rub on anything and im not that low.
