Hi,
So I have replaced my engine. It's back on the transmission, in the car.
I am now reinstalling the starter motor, only to realize it should have been put into position before tightening up the engine to the transmission.
It hits the engine mount bracket under the turbo when I try to install it after the fact.

What are my options at this point?
Can I remove part of the starter (there's a coil and a few connectors on the top of it that hits)?

EDIT: broke connector when trying to remove it. Ordering new one. Trying again...

The starter can be removed and installed with the engine in place. Keep trying.

Yeah, it MUST be so. I found a few YouTube video's but the starters in those videos all look different. Both my starter bolts also attach from the rear (AFAIK) whereas in videos and instructions people seems to have an 8 mm Allen bolt on the front side.
Of course there is a chance I am installing a transmission housing bolt on the starter (isn't that that the same thing though). I have no Allen bolt here anyhow.

I think the plan of action now is to remove the lower turbo mount bracket thing (pictured above) and try slide a new connector in from there.

Thanks, saw that but ‘no’. I have front of the car removed so I have lots of visibility. Problem is more about the connector hitting, regardless.

UPDATE: got a new connector from Audi (went by bicycle hahaha) and managed to install it finally. It's extremely snug against the engine mount bracket (rubbing on it) but at least its on now. Very relieved.
