The dovel sleeves on my BHZ (S3) engine going into the car now seems about half length of the BUL engine I have removed (pictured). Maybe it's because the transmission is different, or maybe it's something that I have caused with putting the engine on the engine stand. Regardless I am considering removing and replacing them on the new engine.

To remove them I understand I can use a polygrip with either a drillbit or an appropriately sized bolt inserted into the sleeve.

But what about installing, has anybody done it? I wonder if its just a matter of tapping it in or it will need more effort or a press even.

They go in pretty easily. I know the dowel pins on the stick are longer to make up for the bell housing spacer.

I think this is the PN for the longer piece: 01E301153G
Short VS long.... The long ones were home made since I was in a hurry but the factory parts will be similar in length.

Came in easy enough.
