Hah, not so much of a build with this one as yet another pic whoring thread because it's just so damned pretty. I was poking around for both RS3's and 5's as I was completely bored with the S4 spec I picked up; it's a great car, nothing wrong with it, just wasn't enough. I pinged out to my sales guy serendipitously the day after this thing rolled into dealer stock, wasn't even listed yet and the first potential buyer's financing was declined...I jumped on it once I saw the color and the spec, never thought I'd own Navarra!

Carbon Black Ops
RS Driver Assistance, Nav
Black Rings & RS5 all-weather mats
Absolutely love the spec inside and out and I can't stop finding excuses to go drive it; I will say that the transmission tuning, downshift/upshift burbles and bangs (really awesome), exhaust note, it's all just a lot more visceral than a stock S4, or even one with only a tune. (Though you can easily modify an S to be just as loud) The 2.9TT really spools that extra hit of torque down waaay low compared to a tuned 3.0T, just barely hitting the throttle around 15MPH gives a huge whoomph of torque that is comparable to my RS7, it just didn't hit the same way in the S4, even when tuned.
So far I've thrown the JB4 on running map 2 on 92, feels like it pulls a taaad harder than my RS7 did stock, which ran an 11.48 @ 119.0 the only time I ran it bone stock; feels like this is at an 11.2-3 @ 120-122 comparatively, and after having driven my M5 Comp to a 10.4 @ 131 on a JB4 w/ Eventuri intakes. I've got an AWE intake setup on the way and some 10mm spacers to poke out the stock flags just right, and if I get bored w/ those after a few months, some M580-R AG 20x9 wheels to play around with, but I think the stockers with spacers is going to do the trick.
On to some pics and such.

Well that was faaaanntastic! Already got through my standard break-in that I do on every car and it was a very rare dry night on my strip in Mexico so I had to give the car the inaugural run...man oh man does she rip! My ONLY time launching this car (bad launch) and I wanted to let the car AMAX shift both the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts but I accidentally hit the paddle at 6K on the 2-3 shift. Car didn't care!
Despite all of that on a full weight, bone stock car with a full tank of pump 92 octane and tires at 39 PSI all around...and it STILL ran as quick as my RS7, hah. The only mod right now is a JB4 on map 2, so commanding +3PSI over stock (which is nothing, aggressive E maps and tunes ask for up to +9PSI) and the logs look clean on 92. All of that to say that this is nooothing for mods or prep if you've done any racing regularly, haha, I'm super impressed:

With a better launch once I learn the car, not short shifting the stupid 2-3 shift, 1/8th tank of gas, lowered tire pressure, and map 3 with two gallons of E in the tank and it's eaaaasily an 11.1-2 @ 121+, just super impressed for a full weight, otherwise stock car on pure pump 92. Its literally only .6 MPH and .12 seconds off what I ran bone stock in my RS7 at full weight on 92, I knew it felt close!
For comparisons sake, my '20 S5 Coupe (which is also 160lbs lighter) ran a 12.0 @ 114 on a full tank of 92 with an EPL stage 1 93 octane tune and an AWE intercooler at this exact same spot...the RS is just on another level!

Congrats on the car and nice numbers. How do you like the launch control? I’m running map 5 with e85 mix, but haven’t tried to launch it cuz I’m afraid of breaking the transmission.
Navarro is a great color the Nardo of blues.. ;)

TY! I'm super happy with it. Nardarro, as they say, haha.
I do the exact same thing I did with my tuned S4/5's in that everything in full Dynamic (RS2), traction control all the way off, plant the brake and then the gas, and as close to the millisecond as the car jumps and settles to the launch RPM (which is what makes the transmission shift in AMAX mode) I let off the gas and go. This means I don't sit and let boost build all the way to feel what the strain would be like on the car, but it's also hard to time perfectly. There's some AWD wheel spin but nothing crazy if you do it this way. Letting boost build for a couple of seconds would launch harder but I don't want to put the drivetrain through that repeatedly.
I had to go back out for another run tonight with nice weather again, ran once, turned around, ran opposite direction...and even quicker! I KNEW it had a 119+ trap in it, which is now faster than my RS7 trapped stock! (11.49 @ 119.02)
Still full weight, 7/8th's tank of gas of only pump 92, and 100% stock except the JB4 on map 2 (which commands +2-3PSI over stock based on RPM and load), it's better than I thought it would do for basically stock!
First run, my launch was terrible, I didn't time it right, BUT I didn't screw up the 2-3 shift tonight, let the car AMAX shift the 1-2, 2-3, I shifted 3-4, 4-5 @ ~6100RPM and rode out 5th. I was rewarded with a 119.6 trap speed for my better shifting!

Wanting to see what the car could do back to back, I flipped a bitch down the road a bit (in Mexico), ran right back the other direction...even faster! 11.60 @ 119.3... If I had THIS launch on the first run, I'd have pulled an 11.58 @ 119.6 (and it's still not a great launch, 1.65 would be great, and an 11.4 all else the same) Once my AWE intake goes in, I'll give it another go, an 11.3-4 @ 119.5-120 should be easy peasy.

TL;DR - an 11.41-65 @ 119.5-120 (which is a hair faster than my stock RS7 ran on the same road, same fuel) is easily achievable with 92 octane pump gas, full weight, no tire pressure adjustment, and completely stock except for a JB4 on map 2, it's second lowest setting (nothing compared to map 6 on an E blend or a real flash tune)
Your RS on map 5 w/ an E blend should be in the 11.1-2 @ 122+ with a good launch and proper shifting!

Yeah that sounds like a fair estimate. I’m hoping with EPL or 034 tunes out soon, we may see 10s on stage 1 E85. I have the AWE intake already. Nice setup, not too much intake noise honestly. APR might have the better setup with larger pipe all the way to the turbos.
Happy launching… [emoji6]

APR and 034 are both in the high 10's (10.9x) on their stage 1+ E85 tunes (so HPFP required to be able to run full E and still get required fuel volume on the 2.9) I think we'll eventually see some 11.0's @ 123-124 on a stage 1 93 ECU & TCU tune (whenever that comes out), intake, and upgraded IC setup. I was only hoping to run an 11.4 @ 119-120 w/ an intake and the JB4 on pump 92 (E is too much of a hassle out here, only one station that's 40 miles away and half the time they are out of E because it's where all of the gear heads go for it) and that's right where the car is at now after the couple of runs I've done, which is quick enough for me!
I was going to go with APR's intake setup but reading the thread there seems to be a handful of fitment/install issues to work through still, and at the end of the day the inlet isn't worth the extra ~8HP for the install hassle, haha. It's a great looking setup though. I've always been happy w/ AWE's fitment and sound, don't plan on doing anything else to the car besides potentially some different wheels down the line after I put the intake in.
Likewise on the launching, you should give it a try w/ the "feather" launching technique I described and use, just enough to enable AMAX while putting as little strain as possible on those little transmission gears, haha. I bet you're in the low 11's for sure.

Spaaacceerrrrsss! This is exactly what I was hoping for stance-wise, 10mm spacers all around, makes a huge difference in how the stock flags sit. Much happier with this look! BMW stances the car out like this from the factory with the M5, Audi needs to be a tad more aggro on the RS models and make this the stock stance.

Rain is literal hours away but I couldn't help but do one more run in Mexico before it comes back, absolutely HORRIBLE launch...car didn't care. Changed the shift technique slightly this time, AMAX 1-2, 2-3, manual shift @ 6300 3-4, 4-5, ride out 5th to redline (like 124 or so) BOOM, 11.5 @ 119.6, if I had the same launch as the other night, this is an 11.38 @ 119.6...perfecto!

Thx Ben, loving the crap out it, actually a lot more fun to drive than I gave it credit for.

For historical purposes, same road in Mexico as last time, worse DA, exact same config; full weight w/ half a tank of plain pump 92, and nothing but the JB4 on map 2. This time I let the car shift itself the whole way, 11.4! Trap speed was 1MPH faster last time when I shift myself 3-4, 4-5, I just got a much better launch this time, next time I'll try same manual shift as before and hope for the same launch as this time! I know she's got an 11.3 @ 120 in her on pump 92 & map 2 before I mess w/ tire pressure or any weight reduction.
