Has anyone retrofitted OE B&O speakers to replace tired OE Bose speakers? My 14 Q5 has B&O and they've made me realize how crappy my B7A4 Bose system sounds.

You'd probably have better luck with aftermarket speakers. I don't know the sizes for the Q5, but there are aftermarket options that work for the A4.

speakers are good, unit sound processing is bad.
Only by having a aftermarket unit and aftermarket amp will change the sound.
I've changed my unit, remove all the bass in the speakers, add amp + sub 45Hz and lower, and its 10x better.
You might want to change the tweeter with a nice component crossover. Bose speaker are good for med.
When I bought my car I was very very disappointing about the bose. ' no hi's , no low's , it must be bose'

Man I'd kill to have Bose option in my B7. The stock unit is really pretty lousy compared to the Bose in my A6. I guess its all levels of expectation but I can rock my A6 tunes off SD card no problem. Crank it up and it sounds tits to me. I'd probably have upgraded but after so many bad experiences with aftermarket decks getting swiped in the 90's. I relegate myself to just live with it. Its not worth the pain of seeing your car window smashed and dashed ripped up.

When I upgraded from symphony to RNS-E, it was huge improvement, like night and day. Then I got the Q5 w/ B&O and it was an eye opener.
