Do we need to do anything special for our cars to allow them to use E85?

I hadn't realize the price difference and there's a pump not too far away

Thanks!

E85 requires a different A/F ratio due to the differences of the fuel. You'd need a specific tune and upgraded HPFP internals to manage the additional fueling requirements.

Some tuners do provide some Ethanol support - Looks like APR has a tune for E60-E85. You'll make extra power and run cooler - But, if you're thinking you'll be saving money at the pump, you likely won't pending costs delta between E and standard dino. Your MPG on E will decrease significantly.

I just mix 3-4 gal of e85 every tank. Run map 5 on JB4 and no issues.

I was hoping to do a full cutover to E85 for the power gains. I thought there might have been MPG gains as well and cheaper prices at the pump but not sure how much it would cost to swap out the internals

MPG gains absolutely not. The nature of E85 requires using 20-25% more for the same power as our crappy CA91. Unless the prices per gallon of E85 offset that additional consumption, you're not going to get any cost savings.

Looking at some national information - Looks like the average spread between E85 and CA91 is around 21% for the state. Cost savings look like a wash but added power might be worth it.

We're working on ethanol support that will be part of our stage 1 and 2 map switching tunes.... which can be flashed at home.

More on this coming really really soon...

Outside of the tune for E85, would we need to replace/add any internals? Seems like HPFP is one, but what about anything else?

The HPFP does not need to be changed for E40 tunes.

For those of us already running a HPFP upgrade and full E85 downgrading to E40 along with the hassle of mixing at the pump isn’t worth it.

Are you releasing tunes for full E85 as well? I would be very interested in a stage 2 and 3 down the road. The CEL check engine light is killing me!

Can you fill up with E85 but run the E40 tune?

Noted on the full e85.

We will be offering a stage 2 and 3 file, but they will not disable any emissions related CEL's.

I mix 3-4 gal per tank. No issues with JB4.
