I installed a Wakaa CarPlay/AA unit into my 2015 A8, and the result was zero display on my MMI screen (for any option of Media, Car, NAV, etc.) However on Media, my Bluetooth connected and songs played and I see the info on the cluster. Of course I have not been able to get hold of them Since Tuesday so I'm quite annoyed. First Audi so I could use a little knowledge.

is LVDS what sends the display from the Media player up to the screen? I have verified the harness is plugged in properly.

I hooked their ground onto one of the bolt holes for the glovebox which is on a metal bracket. Not sure what else to use as most is plastic. However when I push and hold "NAV" for 3s as directed, I hear a click from the Wakaa box.

Manual said to use Jumper 6 for my car. So I did. I also tried 6+7 per directions as I have radar and no change.

At the moment I unplugged the harness and put back to stock and everything works so I didn't bugger anything up.

Everything I can tell points at bad Wakaa unit or Wire harness but wanted to make sure. The lack of response from their support is killing me. When I reached out prior to ordering they got back to me within an hour.

Sounds like a software issue. If they cant figure it out we have a unit for that car also. If you are not too far up we can offer you free installation. We do not advertise it because we haven ot done enough installs yet to sell it online.

Just had this happen as well. Any chance you found a solution?

Nope. Wakka sent me a firmware upgrade but I had a holiday roadtrip planned so I needed to put everything back together. Then It got just damn cold, and I was frustrated and spent any garage time putting the MR2 back together.

Right now It's a lower priority

Just wanted to reply back that I found some free time to give this a second chance and it worked this time. I can only assume that I didn't have either the quad lock or LCDS cable connected completely. Apple carplay works, I can use the maps, and play music just fine. not sure what else works on it, yet.

I could not get the head unit back in, however. I am waiting till I have a free time again to have a friend come over and press down or up on the wires in the back to get the head unit back in. ...I tried for an hour and a half to get the head unit back it, it is such a pain in the ass!

Wanna add to this thread in case anyone might come in the future looking for a solution.
I've had the same issue on my B8 S4, no MMI display when I turn it on but everything else was fine.

The fix for me was to get into the actual factory settings of the unit using password 8866, and then selecting the correct car model in the vehicle list. They had misconfigured it to use a different model than the one I ordered it for.
After that everything has been working perfectly fine
