Yes, a 760 HP Supercar. And, yes it turned out as expected, or maybe not exactly as expected. I have now raced three (3) American muscle "supercars".
Shelby GT 500 - 760HP
Hellcat - 707HP
C7 Z06 - 650HP (also approx. 800lbs lighter than RS5)
All races approx. 70mph - 150mph. It is pretty difficult to judge distance when more than just a couple of car lengths, but I would estimate they each won by a sizeable margin of approx. 4 - 5 car lengths. Yes, this is an awful lot, but I am always amazed how hard this RS5 pulls, and that they all had to get up to 150mph before having such a decisive lead. I am just so surprised that this car can hang with them as long as it can. I would have expected each of these races to have been even more decisive, and over more quickly. I think the GT 500 was the fastest, with the Z06 and Hellcat being equal to one another, but just a bit slower than the Ford.
As I have reported before, racing the standard American muscle is a different story. The RS5 will pull away from a Mustang GT and a Dodge 392 Hemi and stay dead even with a C7 Z51.
Also, I am not sure how much difference a tune would make, but I am completely stock. Maybe with a tune I would only be beat by 3-4 car lengths. :)
BTW - When the GT 500 got in front of me, I had to put my finger over my ear as his exhaust could have ruptured my eardrum.
tks, dal
