I was looking at the 034 motorsport transmission mounts, and it seems they have 2 transmission products for the B9 platform:

TRANSMISSION MOUNT INSERT (https://store.034motorsport.com/034motorsport-transmission-mount-insert-b9-audi-a4-billet-aluminum.html)
STREET DENSITY TRANSMISSION MOUNT UPGRADE (https://store.034motorsport.com/density-line-transmission-mount-upgrade-b8-audi-a4-s4-rs4-a5-s5-rs5-q5-sq5.html)

I was wondering if people installed either one or both of these products. What are your findings? Do you feel a big difference? What about NVH?

Most everyone recommends the insert. It was more noticeable on my SQ than my S4, but still a worthwhile upgrade for the cost. No experience with the street density mount.

I just installed the insert last month and there was no noticeable increase in NVH. Shifts have been smoother while in Sport/Dynamic mode. I had an issue while in that mode where a downshift from 3rd to 2nd would buck the car a bit and the insert smoothed that out.

I got the billet mount, highly recommended as it removed slop from the transmission when shifting.

I installed the ECS poly mounts and ended up taking them out a couple weeks later. I was getting too much vibration from the center counsel and to be honest I did not notice any difference with them in. I think its more placebo

I did not feel any difference at all waste of money. Transmission mount insert

Thank you for the feedback! Will order just the insert for now.
I am very sensitive to NVH, and don't want a rattling car. [up]

I installed the 034 motorsport transmission mount insert and i feel a little bit more vibration in low revs. (1500-2000 rpm)
Some people said shifting is better and faster but honestly is PLACEBO.

The feedback when shifting is better in sporty driving but not faster.
N : Noise like stock
V : Vibration a little bit more, mostly in low revs
H : Harshness almost similar stock

If you are very sensitive to NVH :
On a perfect Road (or perfect highway) like a bowling alley , we can feel the difference. There is a small difference.

If the Road is not perfect, the difference is hard to feel.

Maybe in idle, a little bit more vibration but is very very close to Stock.

I prefer my S4 without Insert for comfort driving but in sportly driving with the insert it's better.

No one said the transmission shifts faster??? You legit just made that up, not a single person said it shifts faster. We are all saying there seems to be a lot of movement and slop when the car shifts (very rubber bandy, especially in Sport mode). The billet insert fixed that, made shifting much smoother not in terms of the actual tuning but you can feel the trans not buck as much due to less play that the rubber OEM inserts, and it did all of this with very minimal (I'd say NO) increase in NVH. I legit did not notice ANY increase in vibration, but DID notice a considerable improvement in how "tight" the car felt during those rough shifts in Sport mode - which ironically increased the refinement more than anything else.

Omychron - here is the answer you are looking for: is it transformative? No. Does it make the car slightly better, for a low price, with virtually no increase in NVH? Yes. Is it recommended? Absolutely. Don't be a cheapskate and get the ECS poly ones, get the 034 solid mount with the subframe mounts along with the strut bar, combine those with a nice set of endlinks and RSB, next thing your car will noticeably improve as a whole (each part contributes slightly but together they are greater than the sum of their parts).

On this thread no one said the transmission shifts faster (i'm ok ) but I have already seen people talk about speed of transmission with this insert. I just wanted to clarify this point.

I prefer stock insert in comfort mode and i prefer 034 insert in dynamic mode.
Maybe some people doesn't feel vibration with 034 insert but it's only because we don't all have the same sensitivity to vibration (NVH). Some people are very sensitive and other absolutely not !

Yes, it's very very close to stock NVH but i can clearly feel a little bit more vibration (low revs) when i drive on a perfect road.
Yes i also notice a improvement with sport mode and the transmission seems smoother in most situations. (Not ALL)

It's a good product with a real improvement but maybe a little bit expensive for a simply piece of machined aluminum.

I can agree - perhaps we all do have different sensitivities to this stuff. But I will give one anecdote - take it for what it's worth. I have a friend with a DCT Veloster N (which is already on the 'raw' or harsh side to begin with) and when he added a bunch of high durometer poly inserts for I believe the DCT trans mount and maybe engine mounts? The car got noticeably harsher and you could visibly see the shifter vibrating more (and even feel it in the seats/armrest). Like, it was damn noticeable. Once again - a trade off he was willing to make since he (like myself) prefers things on the raw side. My insert for the S5, a 4000+ lb heavily dampened German luxury car? Not nearly pronounced. Both good and bad - the car didn't transform and it did NOT fix the other issues with the trans has that are caused by horrible OEM tuning, but it also did not introduce what was (admittedly once again, my opinion) noticeable NVH. To arbitrarily put it into numbers for reference - the friend with his Veloster changed his inserts and got a 50% increase in stiffness at a direct 50% increase in NVH (which was noticeable even by myself, someone who prefers stiff cars and would not want what he did for a DD). Our insert is like a 10% improvement in stiffness, with like a 5% increase in NVH - only the absolute most sensitive people would even notice it or consider it an issue. And once again - mine is the solid insert, not the poly ones, so it theoretically should be the harshest feeling. And ironically, it didn't make the car feel sportier but rather much more refined, so I think it was totally worth the trade off in refinement in NVH if it means a better shifting car to compensate for its other deficiencies (bad OEM TCU tuning).
