Made by me.

Looks very clean.

Has anyone else retained the bottom piece of the stock airbox while doing their custom Hot air intake?

and i dont get the coveted sound like the evo/k and N intakes....

any ideas why?

or who gives a shit , its just an intake.

Are you chipped? Maybe your DV is shot if it's not making the noise.

No offense but I wouldn't call that the "best looking". Mine looks 100% stock until you take the top covers / snorkel off.

What if he glues $300 in 20's to his? Then both would cost about the same.

Are you chipped? What DV are you using? If you're not chipped you probably won't hear too much just because there's not as much pressure. Even then, it's not exactly loud, but noticeble with your radio off, with the windows down, driving through a tunnel.

I would think you'd want to retain the top of the air box, not the bottom (assuming you run a feed of air from underneath). On top is where all the hot air gets in. I'd box up the cone and feed it with cool air form the stock snorkel, and/or from underneath. Then throw on a good heat shield.

Better yet, use the stock air box... but I digress...

By the way this costed me 25 dollars.

My highlight was utilizing the stock airbox and snorkel to funnel colder air , and still keeping the aftermarket filter.

But yeah i dont get the sound. i am not chipped. I might just wait to go k04

Def gonna get a new dv though.

It looks very sleek in person, and i could always throw on the top plastic cover. Bran, i said it looks nice, not stock.
