DIY: 2.5 ID slip fit onto 2.56OD pipe [Archive]

Looking to get an exhaust cutout for my b8.5 a4. All I can find is 2.5ID cutouts, besides ECS tunings vacuum actuated one but Id rather electric. Is there any way I’d could get a 2.5ID to fit on the 2.56OD exhaust this car has? Or the best way to expand a 2.5ID pipe slightly?

Pickup an exhaust pipe expander from Harbor Freight or local auto parts store. May even be able to rent one and return it when done.
