View Full Version : 225/40 or 235/40 Goodyear F1 GS-D3 on 18x8.5 BBS CH?

I have BBS CH in 18 x 18.5 on my B5 A4 lowered with Bilsteins and H&R Sports. I currently have Toyo Proxes 4 in 235/40 with no rubbing issues. I know that Toyos tire width is usually narrow compared to other similar sized tires while S-03's run wider. I want to get the Goodyears as my next tire but I'm not sure if I should go with 225's or 235's. Thoughts?

i think goodyears run a bit wider than others. i'd still go with 235s and if you have rubbing issues, roll them fenders.

i've got the gsd3's on my car and i went with the 225's but that was because i had 235's before and they were rubing somewhere on the inside of the wheel well. the 225's don't look stretched at all and they are a nasty tire.

Second on the 225/40/18. I also had the GS-D3s with my old black BBS RX wheels and they weren't wide at all.

Stasis uses 18x8.5 inch wheels with a 38mm offset. You can run 255/35/18 if you roll the fenders.

235/40/18 sounds right to me... although i'm not certain about the suspension drop setup regarding your fenders.

On a 19x8.5 wheel I have 235/35/19 (and on the rears 19x9.5 i have 265/35/19)

Good luck with your purchase,

I run 225/45/17 now... my new wheels will run 265/40/17 so im real afraid. I have 225's on my 8's and they are squared nice with the rim
