Hey Audizine! We had the pleasure of installing probably one of the first North American B9 RS5 Competition Packages from Wagner Tuning! This consists of a larger intercooler and upgraded front radiator, plus hoses and bracketry for a plug and play installation. While technically Wagner has only released this kit for an RS4, we knew it would fit the RS5 model and with adjustment to one intercooler bracket, it fit perfectly. The center radiator fit well, attention to detail for the bracket and mounting points were impressive as they fit just like OEM. Wagner is adjusting their intercooler kits and will have a RS5 specific model coming very soon, but with summer around the corner we did not want to wait, and got this 2021 RS5 dialed in!

While this car was torn down, the customer also had us install a Pierburg CWA100-3 water pump for the turbocharger circuit since the old unit was already out anyways.

Here is a quick JB4 log that our customer was able to share with us, logged pre and post installation. You can see based off the intake air temp and water temperature readings that there is a definite improvement compared to stock. In fact, the car looks to get cooler as it does each pull. I did run out and get some VCDS logs of the car as well, and will upload these soon for you guys to view as an alternate source of data.

Good to hear they are working on the solution for it to fit the RS5. Do you have any information regarding the size of the intercooler in comparison to the factory intercooler?

Looks good overall will be interested in this once the RS5 version is out

Looks like I missed uploading the comparison picture, you can see here showing the factory intercooler side by side with the Wagner unit.

Wow! What a size difference. How much difference does that pierburg pump make?[emoji964]

Great news, disheartened though that it is taking so long. They cancelled my order last year and said it didn't fit for the RS5. Can you go over the bracket issue? The way they made it sound was it was not an easily addressable fix.

The pump outflows the factory RS5 unit, and the RS7 / B8 S4 guys are using similar upgrades to achieve better flow. With more volume in the larger cores from Wagner, not only does this help move fluid, but at a higher pressure it will utilize more of the radiator's capacity versus a lower pressure stock pump.

Since this was a 2021, I can only speak for this, but I would imagine fitment to be similar on a B9 pre facelift model. The upper bracket that holds the charge cooler to the fender well area just needs to be flipped to pull the intercooler backwards for room around the headlight. Depending on your modules, you may need to smooth down a heat sink fin on the back side of the headlight, but your results may vary.

Already looks more promising than hays currently on the market. Do we have actually IAT numbers? Kinda hard to tell by just the graphs.

I will be getting the same kit for my B9 RS4.

If you guys want, I can take logs. Just let me know which blocks to take via VCDS?

Reviving from the dead to see if I can pick your brains for some install insight. I’m gonna use the Wagner install guide along with IE intercooler install and a couple DIYs on YouTube but just wanted to see if you ran into any issues you could give me a heads up on.
