So it looks like I still have a small evap leak, I replaced my old n80 purge valve with the valve from my new engine when I had a CEL for small evap leak, but that didn’t seem to fix it. I noticed that the idle gets kind of rough when purge valve duty cycle is non 0, and noticed it’s very smooth otherwise. I vacuum tested my old n80 valve and sure enough it’s holding vacuum really well and probably was not a source of leak. Anyways, when I replaced this valve, I also replaced all the rubber parts of the evap vent hose which goes between the steel line in the wheel well and the purge valve itself. There’s one plastic piece I reused however:

My question is if whether this is some kind of check valve or something else. It has an arrow which shows the flow direction, and in my case, it flows freely in both directions? Is this really a check valve or perhaps some kind of filter to prevent any loose carbon from the charcoal canister from clogging up the purge valve? Wondering if mine’s broken or not.
I also removed all the plastic underbody panels yesterday thinking the evap line can be damaged from all the shenanigans with transmission, drivetrain r&r and getting towed away but nope, all the underbody steel lines look mint, and same goes for the charcoal canister and the leak detection pump.
