Hey everyone I recently got a new foglight housing and I'm looking to protect it. Has anyone done anything similar? Dad got some 3m protection film from amazon and I was wondering if it was possible

I've been using LaminX for years and zero issues. Just like painting it is all about the prep. I do a wet application with this (https://amzn.to/3vAd57o) as you can easily get all the bubbles out and get the film properly aligned. The trick here is clean your fogs thoroughly with a good glass cleaner and then again with rubbing alcohol to remove any oils. Use a little compressed air to blow away any fibers from your cleaning towels. Then spray your web application to the fog lamp and to the film. Use a credit card or what ever you want to squeegee the fluid out from the center out. I normally give it a day to let it fully dry before I installed them on my car.
Just a fyi, I had the smoked tint color and went to clear. The light output difference is pretty huge switching to clear.
