Curious if anyone has used this as opposed to buying a new one where you have to recode it for lower pressures? If so did it hold up, or is it not worth messing with and just replace it?

I've used a variety of their products. Good stuff.

Specifically the PCV kit, I've used on 2-3 VWs with great success. Most of the Audi's I've worked on, the people go catch can.

So if you wanna give their kit a try, I'd say go for it!

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkWhat I understand is that you're really short-changing yourself by not getting the updated PCV and having it tuned correctly. This was one of the only efforts that they made to reduce oil consumption and carbon build-up on valves. Reports are that the change in crank case pressure is a significant improvement for us.
Also, if you're running an aftermarket tune, there are likely already provisions made for this. I'm on EPL software, and changed my PCV to the updated one last Fall. EPL guys confirmed that their file already included the updated crank case pressure thresholds.

Well that makes me decision easier as I also am EPL Stage 2. Car never had oil consumption issues until recent. Seems to be getting worse. Going through a quart every ~750 or so miles. Does the PCV going bad also cause slight coolant loss? I’ve already done my thermostats and water pump.

How did this work out for you?

About to tackle it this weekend. Didn’t get much feedback on the repair kit so I went with the full kit from fcpeuro

i think it's not very common to do the repair kit because 99% of the labor is disassembly and reassembly, and a SUBSTANTIAL and difficult amount at that. in contrast the inline 4cl you don't need to even remove the pcv or anything to do the repair diaphram, it's staring you in the face, so if you mess it up you're out very little time to do full replace. only like a coilpack or two have to come of and you can swap the whole pcv module, don't have to do the whole intake runners, sc, fuel rails, etc like on the s4 where it's burried at the bottom of the intake "V" under everything

in theory the repair kit should work well enough, but is it worth the effort to you vs the $150 part to have the peace of mind not to have to get back in there any time soon?

Devils advocate here......I mean if all you gotta do is pull off supercharger and pry out pcv caps that kinda justifies it no?? I mean I don’t think it’s going to be THAT easy but might be possible with some finesse and picks. Half the battle of the pcv is getting lines out of the way to pull it out.

Yeah, I agree. Especially if you’re doing it yourself. If you’re paying the labor for someone else to do it, I’d agree just replace the unit.

Anyone know if injector o rings are a must while doing this? I’m assuming it’s probably a good idea especially if the car has significant miles on it?

Just from my experience don’t skip out on the injector resealing. Cost me nothing but headache and an emergency dealership stop on vacation after I did my PCV; 800 miles later 3 of my injectors began leaking. Dealer didn’t tell me exactly what was leaking on them (I replaced only the top o ring as the injectors had stayed in place when I removed the fuel rail, so I thought I was ok)

if you can get to it without removing the pcv then yeah that would make a lot of sense to do instead of pulling fuel rails and all that crap.

So I bought the Rkx valve to do my pcv. Hoping to save myself the full labor. But my pcv was leaking coolant into the valley. So I had to do the whole pcv. FML. Interestingly, the “bad” pcv I pulled STILL HAD A PERFECT condition rubber diaphragm. No crack, no tear nothing. So I don’t get why I was consuming so much oil. Maybe the diaphragm spring was tired?? Idk I was so pissed lol.

Also injector o-rings were kind of ashy/crunchy looking so I went ahead and swapped them.

I did my PCV and did not replace my injector seals, I did check them and lubed them REALLY good before reinstalling the lower intake runner. no ill effects, no leaks.
