Hi everyone,

I hope you can help me out here please.

I bought my first Audi a week ago - A6 3.0 TDI Competition quattro tiptro avant - and literally 10 minutes after had it remapped (Stage 1) The DPF light has already come on twice. The second time it made the car go into "safe mode". It is currently at the garage being fixed. The car is from 2018 with 77.000km. I have never done any remapping of my diesel cars before so I am all new to this field. So my question is - is the stage 1 tuning 100% related to the DPF?

I appreciate your answers.

Nico

You should go back and get more info on what the stage 1 tune entails. Its possible the tune disabled the DEF spray and thats why the DPF light triggered.

Did you also get a DPF tune? I went stage 2 with Malone and they also have an additional charge for EGR + DPF removal tune. I currently don't have the DPF switched out yet.

If you switch out the DPF what will you do with the annual vehicle inspections?

When I first did my Malone Stage 2 tune with DPF, I got some errors with the NOX sensor. But those always cleared up after a long drive. The error only came on after short drives. Now that i'm Stage 2 with the DPF, EGR, Adblue delete, I don't get any errors at all since the NOX sensor was removed. Think its possible that your DPF is getting clogged causing too much back pressure on the engine?
