Hello all... Wondering if anyone has had similar issue... In December, my car began to flash the hazard lights randomly. Happened twice, once in the rain, once just sitting in the driveway. January, the car was parked in the driveway, no weather, hazards again began to flash rapidly for no reason. Audi tech scanned for codes... Low battery, rear hatch sensor code. Brought to dealer, installed new battery and reprogrammed according to a TSB about this issue. Car was kept inside to see if issue would replicate. It did, resulting in a second reprogram. No issue for five days, so the car was brought back to my home last week, put in the garage, and today the same issue reared again...

Anyone else experience this with this platform? I know it has been an issue with the 4 and 6 series... Any knowledge of the solution is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance...

Spent an hour or so running down possible troubles/issues and after scanning the car, we came up with 01403 code... "Rear Glass - Break sensor", "Rear 011- Open Circuit" which intermittently trips the factory alarm.

Too cold to pull the plastics apart, so we turned down the sensor "sensitivity" for the alarm system as a temporary fix.

Apparently, while not common, it is apparently a known issue on the A7/S7/RS7 body, (and on some Avants). The wiring to the sensor (bottom of window, behind lower plastic panel, at the base of the glass) can become corroded via condensation. The connector looses conductivity. Usually a cleaning and then using waterproof di-electric grease, resolves the issue. In extreme instances, the corrosion will cause the sensor to separate from the rear glass, necessitating a rear glass replacement... Hope I don't have to go that route!

Will pull it apart this week when temps warm up, and will take some pictures as well...

My glass break sensor on the rear glass caused a soft code. But it was caused by the window tinter. A little solder and 20 minutes, it was good as new.

Have not applied any tint... car had been done by original owner back in November 2017. Have not had any issues at all, until this past December. Weird....
