To anyone who has replaced their blower motor V2 which brand of part did you go with? I can get one on FCP but was hoping to get one locally in the $150 dollar range. Also did you have to replace the module as well? Thanks

I picked up a used one from wolf - https://wolfautoparts.com/audi/2010/s4/sedan/3-0l-v6-supercharged/blower_motor.html
You'll want a C rev. Though I eventually developed a DTC for the resistor ("control module"), once I replaced the blower all codes went away.

I have codes for both the blower and control module so I’m assuming I should replace both. I’ve had what sounds like chirping or crickets in my passenger vent for some time now so I know that’s the issue.

You can pick up a Mahle blower from here (https://www.germanautosupply.com/MAHLE-BEHR/6/8K1-820-021-C) for $130. Mahle is the supplier for Audi. The one I bought from here literally had the Audi logo scratched off.
Do NOT buy an aftermarket blower. They're cheaper but sound like a jet engine compared to the OEM blower.

The B8.0 OE ones I've seen, such as the one I removed from my car and the replacement one were Nissens. Other analogues listed by Audi include Hella, Behr, Vemo, and Magnetti. Mahle is not listed, but I would have no concerns if that was the brand that showed up in the box.
"so I'm assuming..."; assume that, I did. And it turned out, as I typed, I did not need the resistor unit. Just the blower. But I didn't have audible issues, the fan rarely would just not work for a moment at engine start. The early blower revs are documented to develop issues.

I agree. The 40 dollar BLOX or whatever brand is insanely loud. I bought it first, had to trash it and redo the job with a used one from a breaker on eBay.

You're right with Nissens building the OE B8 blower. The B8.5 is Behr. However, Mahle purchased all outstanding shares of Behr Hella Service GmbH and has been transitioning everything to their own brand.

Didn't realize that. Just what we need, more consolidation and less options.
