So I'm in the market for a 2017/18 S7 and have noticed a few units I've liked, but carfax shows tires being replaced rather often. Is this something that is common or are these cars being driven by a pissed off teenager? Both units are socal cars and I know the roads are for crap, but 6 tires by 28k is a little bit much IMO.

That's probably just from damage and potholes, most tires carry a treadwear warranty and almost all of those tires will carry a warranty for greater than 30k miles so I wouldn't worry about it, so even if the tire wears out before then, you'll get whatever percentage was supposed to be remaining refunded, ie a 200$ tire has a 50k warranty and you wear it out in 25k miles, you'll get 100$ back or if you wear it out in 40k miles you'll get 40$ back and so on

I’m sure it has something to do with driving style - after all, you’re buying a performance sedan.

The other factor: Pzero’s are awful tires when it comes to tread wear and how long they last. 28k miles is a lot for the OEM tires.

I think that person drove on some crappy roads or txts to much hitting curbs or something. Lots of “replaced 1 tire”. That’s not a wear issue. Even doing donuts or hard driving. That would fry mult tires at a time. I wouldn’t worry about it

Yeah, clearly that person straight up aimed for all the potholes and curbs, didn’t even make any effort to avoid hazards, or had the worst luck.

Replacing that many tires and wheels is wild!

Thanks! I super picky about my cars and probably overthink a lot of issues. These units are really hard to come by these days and being picky isn't really an option.

Understandable. It has some good maintenance records for sure. Not sure if that Audi dealership was really good at upselling services, but changing rotors/pads and brake fluid flush, all before 19k miles, that’s pretty crazy to me.

People in Santa Monica likely just go with what the dealer recommended lol.

Always good to have a PPI done anyway, or check out the weak points yourself - motor mounts and control arms, specifically with that many potential pot holes hit lol

Good call! I'll have my friend from the area take a look since I'll be flying to buy it if all pans out.
