Hey guys. I've been trying to chase down an issue since I went E40, Ported Blower, and Ported UC. I need some brains to look at my logs and let me know what y'all think might be the issue.

I installed ported blower, uc, e40, hpfp, and it was fine for around 3 weeks. No codes. Everything was fine. Pulled hard af and it was nice. Now everything is not so nice. Everytime I attempt to do a pull or wot, I get misfires and it throws an epc light. Slow down to a stop and car is running terrible (it wants to die). Turn the car off and It runs fine but still has the epc light. Epc light only goes away if I scan it and delete the codes. I will attach the codes I get below. This has been an on going issue for around 2-3 months now, haven't been able to enjoy the car. Looked at the logs and actually upgraded my lpfp to a walbro 450 (car is a b8 so couldn't run a rs7 lpfp). Logging again, the lpfp upgrade was a success but did not solve my issue. Then I had my voltage regulator go out and replaced that (didn't think that had anything to do with fueling but I'd thought I would mention it). I tried some liqui moly Injector cleaner, no difference. Ive heard it could be a fuel line that's kinked up, heard it could be a fuel pressure sensor on the hpfp, heard that it could be my hpfp assembly being too old, and 034 said my pulley ratio is too aggressive. I have a 189mm IAbed crank pulley and ie sc pulley which I didn't think was too extreme. So many different opinions and theories. I don't want to keep throwing money at it hoping to solve the issue so I figured I'd ask Audizine. Let me know what y'all think.

Have you logged fuel pressure output on the hpfp? Check actual vs requested. I just did this set of mods recently (no ported blower, though), and was getting the same symptoms you were. My actual fuel rail pressure was way lower than my requested due to fuel leaking past the seals into the oil. Changed out the hpfp and all was well again.

Please Email [email protected] with your logs and info, and our tuning team will assist.

Your pulley ratio is larger than optimal (57.75 upper, 179mm lower) but is not wild. There is likely a failing hardware component failing that is causing your issue.

After you email our team, please DM this audizine account with your email so we can escalate your ticket to ensure we help get you in the right direction as quickly as possible.

My car is doing something similar now (minus all the codes, limp mode only once). Posted about it a few days ago. Took it to the shop and HPFP was leaking past seal and shop is sure that is what is causing it. Replacing it now so will see.

What Ro said. Even your old log the HPFP didn't look good. Also, doesn't 034 sell a dual pulley kit with a 190 crank? Surprised they would say that is larger than optimal for something they sell...

I'd also be concerned about fuel contamination of the oil at this point with how long it has been.

I had this same issue before I upgraded my HPFP to the autotech internals. Now I haven’t had any of those issues I was having it really bad where I would have to throw my car into neutral on the freeway and turn it off and on at least twice before the EPC light would go away because after turning it off and on just once wouldn’t make it go away. I had a Q5 that had the same problem that was completely stock. I think it ended up being the coils. So I guess it’s just something Audi’s do as a sort of limp mode.

Also 034 was only saying the 190mm crank is a bit on the aggressive side. If you watch there YouTube channel they run the 179 on there in house car since that seems to be a sweet spot. They weren’t saying 190 shouldn’t be run or anything though. I would suggest watching there YouTube channel though they have some great information on our cars. Makes me wish I would have gone 034 instead of EPL. Especially since I live in the Bay Area.

Was it from the piston seal that the leak was occuring? Or did you use an entire new pump and upgraded piston?

Flash back to stock push it hard WOT and see if you still throw the same codes.

UM put 93 in the tank first or you'll throw lean codes

Did you ever get this resolved? Similar issues happening right now.

I started getting misfires and the EPC light, but only past 6,800 RPM or so, would usually pull fine in 1st and 2nd, then go into limp mode just before the shift to 4th. Turned out my ethanol content was too high and it was running out of fuel at the top. This was on a 104 map with the stock pump. As soon as I filled up again with straight 93, all was well again. So, check your logs, and check your e-content before you replace anything.

I wanted everything to be new when I went E40, so I ordered a new Hitachi HPFP and Autotech piston/rod kit. For whatever reason, I kept getting the codes with this setup (actual could not provide the fuel that requested was asking of it). Swapped the Autotech guts into the original HPFP and all was well. Don’t know if I just got a defective pump with bad seals or what, but it was leaking fuel into the oil.

If you have close to 100k on your injectors, change them!!

First log is with old lead acid battery. Second is with new AGM but I am beginning to think was not coded properly. Even so I wanted to show how even with lower voltage the pump still begins to fail right at about 4k in 3rd gear. I have logs replacing each fuel system component but in the end the low pressure fuel pump seems to drop off right at 4k just like OP.

3.3Pr, Autotech, running e40 on a full tank, test pipes, all supporting mods for stage 2+. All new HPFP, LPFP and sensors. Went through the whole parts catalog chasing fueling issue and resultant timing pull. I am setup to spray meth, but dont want to begin as I want to be sure fuel system as is, is up to par.

Let me know if there's anything in the logs that you might need translated. I need the help as I want to make sure this fuel system is up to the standard during good DA's in the winter.

I had this issue right after going e40 and it was my intercooler cores but sounds like it could be different in your situation.
