Has anyone else noticed their car running a little slower after adding an EPL TCU tune? I have a 2016 A6 3.0T with APR stage 2 single pulley. Ran a 3.84 0-60 with the APR tune, but after adding an EPL TCU tune in early February, it is actually slower. In 1st gear, it does not run the full 7200 rpm allowed by the ECU. 2nd gear runs the 7200 rpm. Driving around in D or Sport does feel more aggressive. Anyone else have a similar experience?221181221182

I did Stage 1 and TCU at the same time, can’t tell you the difference on the TCU only.

Also, if you have the cable is easy to put the factory TCU tune back and test it.

That is a nice time for stage 1! I'm back to stock TCU tune now, but will reload the EPL one tonight to see if it loads correctly.

I do not have any before and after Dragy runs. However, my car seems considerably quicker with the EPL tcu flash.

Im running the 034 beta Zf8 tune and for me at least it does pull all the way to 7200rpm in 1st so it may be just an EPL thing, the 034 tune also makes the car shift almost like DSG I'll find the link for their teaser video of an Sq5 with dragy

Would you happen to have any insider info on when 034's TCU tune will drop? [:D]

Would you happen to have any insider info on when 034's TCU tune will drop? [:D]I think you can get it if you just email them about it, I honestly can't tell why it's still in beta, in comfort it drives like stock just more responsive and in dynamic it feels like a different car

Why not look at Melns TCU tune. It's amazing :)In the videos I looked at the 034 tune just seemed to shift a bit faster, also 034 is super close to where I live and they flash for free so I couldn't justify the price getting the hp tuners stuff

Did you do any timed pulls while stock to compare to EPL?

Did you do any timed pulls while stock to compare to EPL?I did... the 3.84 in January is stock TCU. The others dated Feb are EPL.

Are sure the AMAX has been engaged? I can easily feel the difference when engage and when not. Stock TCU and EPL TCU

EPL TCU goes up to 7k. Even if your tune goes to 7200, the TCU won't allow it to get past 7k.
Are you sure you were able to hit 7200rpm with APR tune with stock TCU?
On my car with winter tires, EPL TCU tune go me to 60mph on top of 2nd gear, whereas stock redline would have me already in 3rd gear by then. This is also no launch, just from a stop to WOT
Having 1 less shift should give you a better 0-60.
Were the conditions similar when you are doing the comparison?
If Sport mode in first is not shifting at 7k under WOT, put it into M instead - it will top out at 7k and shift to 2nd without manual intervention.

The free thing I'll buy, But the faster I'd debate :) You could always ask him to make it faster. :)

What was the verdict here, better without or without EPL TCU tune? I have been wanting to do the TCU tune from EPL but have read quite a few mixed reviews. I already have their ecu tune and cable, so reluctant to spend the extra money for Melen or something else. Thanks for any feedback.

I think the EPL TCU flash is cheaper if you are already an EPL ECU customer.
I think it was very well worth it.
