My 2015 S4 is used about once a week during the pandemic. It starts but not as quick as when it was used daily when I was working. Yesterday , I drove to local supermarket, car started a bit slow as usual. When I finished shopping, I tried to start car. it cranked and it would not start. I could not even remove key! Bizarre! I was going to call AAA. my cell phone also gave me issues. Midas was across the street. The manage offered to call AAA. BUT instead he had a jump pack and started car though the connection on the fire wall. I gave him a $20 bill and thanked him. I drove to dealer who I have had a long standing relationship, but they could not replace battery m unless I left car. there and got a ride home.I was given an appointment for two weeks later. I later email my regular service advisor. I was angry as I have spent lot of money.at the dealer ship. Told that to person who said I would have to leave car and get a ride. Push goes to shove , my regular service advisor gave me an appointment for this Saturday instead of the one 2 weeks later, that I made on the phone when. I return ed home.Moral do not screw around with a failing battery on 2015 S4.

It takes like 5 minutes to replace, very easy. You're lucky you saw signs of it failing, many of us aren't so lucky and have one go dead at the first cold snap.

Question, if I may.
I'm quite sure the battery in my 2016 S4 is getting close to its end of life. It does not exhibit any signs of this but it's been in the car since it was built in August 2015. My question is, you inferred that replacing it is a simple task and few things on German cars are simple. Are there any changes needed to be done to the MMI when changing the battery? What settings are apt to be lost during this process. I have changed quite a few batteries over the years but this car is so interconnected with its electronic monitoring systems that I was wondering if it really is just a drop-in process like vehicles of past years (say ten years ago).
Also, what PR Code is used for the battery in this car; JOZ ??

It is no more difficult or complicated to change your Audi battery compared to a 1969 Chevy....

Just what I was hoping to hear. Any thoughts on the PR Code which I need to select an Interstate battery for this car?

I believe that you need to re-code the new battery to your car. As the computer will charge a new battery differently than an old one.
I had to do this with my girlfriend's 2011 BMW 535. And my friend whom performed the operation said that my 2012 A6 would require it as well, if a new battery was installed.

FYI my car's original battery that was built in 07/2012 is still running strong..

Honestly, everyone should own a CTEK battery tender. Thing has reconditioned a completely dead battery and saved me hundreds since I've owned it.

Correct. You need to change the VAG-COM battery serial number. Just change the current one by one digit and it will reset.

Very impressive. I owned a 2001 Ford Ranger which I bought used in 2002 (it only had 1965 miles on it). The factory battery lasted eleven years.

Go to your trunk, remove the spare battery and you should have a sticker on the driver side of the wheel well that looks like something below.... I know my 2013 S4 is the J0Z PR code

Yes I saw that and that sticker is also in the maintenance manual in the owner's manual packet, as someone mention. I figured that the code was J0Z since it was the only code that matched those on Interstates pulldown. Thanks much.
