I'm not one to go around looking to race people while in our RS5...not really my thing honestly. That said I had a fun little experience last night coming home from a tough oncology appointment. While coming up the main road leading to the turn off to our development I noticed someone desperately trying to get though traffic behind me. He/she managed to do so right at a red light...nobody in front of us. I'll also say here that the speed limit on this particular stretch of road is 55 mph (got to love So. Cal. speed limits). Light changed to green and he/she stomps on it, clearly wanting to race. Well, the road ahead was clear and being familiar with the road I know there are no streets that intersect so the risk of someone pulling out suddenly was zero. So I drop the pedal. Not to the floor, but far enough. At this point he's got a few car lengths on me. No worries, within a couple seconds I've caught him and blew past. I could see from the corner of my eye his car "jump" as he/she shifted gears, desperately trying to keep up. At this point the meat of the power band hit...and well...he ate my dust. Shortly after this my turn came up at the next light so I slowed down to stop at the left turn light...he tooled by a few moments later. Hope I didn't damage his ego too much.
It was a thrill to feel the RS5's motor roar and the power it produces I must admit. Never would have done this had the road been congested or blind corners/intersections been present...

I used to own a e46 m3, now a e92 m3 also. But yeah, those NA in-line 6 motors could never match our RS5s. Not even in the twisties as we would say back on e46fanatics.com. Lol. They are pretty sweet cars but no way the torque monster our RS5s are. I actually miss the nimble nature of the car and that sweet, smooth revving inline 6!
You probably made his day though. I remember racing faster 911s etc back in the day and knew I would lose but it was nonetheless thrilling as hell!

Thanks. Let’s just say, my priorities has shifted a bit over the last few weeks.
