While looking at some pics of an a4 sedan with the trunk open, I noticed that they have an orange safety triangle stowed in the trunk trim. So where would this be located in an avant? I've had the rear cargo area of my avant almost completely disassembled in the past, and have not seen a mounting area suitable for the safety triangle. Unless it's supposed to mount to the spare or something, but then why not just do the same on the sedan?

avants have one that folds up and stashes near the jack.

they do? is that what's in that red plastic container in the jack compartment - I've had my car for almost 6 years and never opened that long red box

i dont have a red box :-(

i guess its not surprising because my car didnt come with a manual or any other literature. the prev. owner probably took it all out before trading it in.

Yep, that would be it.

I actually have an extra that my wife bought me before I bought the Avant (I had an '00 GTI 1.8T). Then again, I'm sure she wouldn't want me to sell it since she gave it to me. I'm sure she bought it off of the Audi of America site.
