Tire Rotation

What is the correct, for Audi, tire rotation pattern? I know there are various methods but what is correct for a 2005 A4 Q B7 3.2?

I always did rears go straight forward to the same side front, and then cross the fronts to the opposite rear side.

I see the predominant recommendation be the “rearward cross” for AWD. This will also depend if you have unidirectional tires. For example, the hankook ventus is a common one.

“This pattern is used for rear-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive vehicles. The rear tires move straight up to the front, while the front tires move to the opposite rear positions.”
