Just wondering if any had this problem: The driver side heated seat, burning your leg while on high? I mean so hot it’s actually burning the seat from the inside out!! So I’m wondering what to do? Any help is appreciated. 218924

Maybe this helps, this is what the heated cushion looks like under the leather. Don't think there's an easy to fix that besides removing the skin and seeing if the insulation around the heating elements is basically toast or not. An interior shop would be able to take it apart and look.

Take it to Audi. They will inspect it and ultimately repair it for free. They do have to inspect it before they can authorize any repairs (e.g. make sure it was the seat and not something external). A repair means fixing the heat element and new leather.
I had both front seats replaced (at different times) on my original ar years ago. One of them burned a hole in my winter coat, but it was an old coat so I didn't care. It is a strict liability issue for Audi, so if it is a heater malfunction they have to repair it for you.

Under warranty it would be an easy call to have the dealer fix, are you saying this kind of liability is something Audi would fix for free for the life of the car?

I had my second seat repaired when the car was nine years old with 159,865 miles. Strict liability never runs out.

Good to hear, hopefully dieselgate and the current world doesn't change something like that. Totally get the fire hazard.

They tried to dance a little on the second seat. But I just told them what I expected, once they confirmed it was their defect, and it was done after a little crying. They really don't have a choice.

Good to hear. I was hoping that Audi was going to take care of it. But I didn’t want to go there and them saying, “FU it’s a 2013 that’s a you problem.” Thanks guys!!!
