I have a completely stock 2014 Audi A6 C7 TDI 3.0L Quattro 8 Speed Transmission, it’s had the dealer “Dieselgate” fix performed on it, what’s the best recommended ECU tuning chip or module or cable, that I can increase MPG and possibly also HP/Torque with as well?

I want something I can easily revert back to the stock programming.

Also, I live in Florida, so there’s no emissions testing here.

There are a few options. I have done Malone Tuning, which is based in Canada. Kerma (also in Canada) is also a popular option. Malone uses a "Flashzilla" cable/device that would allow you to do flashing yourself, as well as send them your files and whatnot. I know they require your stock file first.
I think there are few tuning boxes you could use but I never explored those options.
My Malone Stage 2 impressions can be found here (https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/900600-A6-TDI-Build-(picture-heavy)).

Subscribing, although I still have warranty in effect. With my luck after I flash something blows. Happened on my Stage 2 WRX lol.

Shop found my rear main seal had a tiny seep. This will likely get worse over time, although currently I don't notice I'm losing oil but have been told that over time, the oil will dilute with diesel. Sometime (probably not until spring) I will be getting flashed back to stock, having the deletes reversed, and seeing if Audi will replace the rear main seal. From what I have read, Audi would charge $13k to do this. If I can get it under warranty, that'd be great.

Just went thought this with my 2014 TDI. Was actually a rear main seal leak as well as upper oil pan leak. Was loosing about a quart over 15000km, so nothing major. Took a month to complete the repair (dropped the car off on January 4th and picked up yesterday). Was covered under warranty, but with a few surprises. One of my mounts was done, and not covered under warranty. In my case timing had to come off and multiple guides failed in the process- not covered under warranty. Tried fighting Audi Canada on this, but no luck. All in all was $1500 out of pocket. Total billed to Audi was over 25k Canadian, so YES REVERT TO STOCK 100%.

I’ve read on the TDI forums that the dieselgate warranty does cover the rear main seal and a few people have had the work completed under the warranty. It’s a common issue on the 3l TDI’s which is the main reason I’m not modifying until the warranty is up. Should definitely be covered though

Reading stuff like that makes me want to stay stock even more. My commute is 44 miles on way all highway so even with a tune I’m not missing much I think.

I'm not sure why timing would not be covered. Literally makes no sense to me. I can understand mounts, but not timing, especially if they were bad guides.

I second the vote for Malone Tuning. I just completed my mod work which included an intercooler, downpipe, and the Malone DPF delete, EGR delete, Adblue delete tune. The difference in driveability is literally night and day. I initially did just the Malone stage 2 tune and it was better than stock, but it still felt restrained with a delayed throttle. With the deletes, the car just wants to move! No delay with the throttle response and the torque just keeps coming all the way up to 135mph, which is as fast as i've taken it so far. It was still pulling when I got to that speed before I had to take my offramp at the "track" [:D]. As an added bonus, I gained about 5mpg. More power, more mileage, more smiles!

How much miles do you guys have when you noticed the rear main seal leaking?

I want to say I was at 62k-63k miles (went to do my 65k service before a Thanksgiving trip). I'm at 66k now.
What intercooler did you go with? I haven't gotten around to doing that yet, but it's on the list of things to do.

Ok thats good to know. I only have 22k miles now so hopefully I have some time before mine goes.
I have the intercooler from Darkside. It was only $300 shipped at the time so I just added it onto my order. I think they discontinued the intercooler now so your only other option would be Wagner.

Timing was not included into extended warranty as a part of settlement along with a bunch of other parts. For example upper oil pan gasket is not included in the warranty extension, but the pan itself is. So, if a dealer determines that is the seal and not the pan that is leaking- repair will not be covered....
In my case timing was completely fine, BUT during disassembly tensioners “failed”.

Boosted Euro also has tunes for TDI. I got it on my Q7 and love it. Got rid of the hesitation off the line and more power everywhere. Haven’t had/got to go back to work regularly since getting it so can’t really comment on economy yet but it seems like its getting better mileage with non aggressive driving. Also Mickey (the owner who also does the tune remotely with your computer) is great to work with.

Kerma all the way. Best tunes for diesel and best customer service. Same at home tuning and can remove flash to take it in for warranty work

Dealer (PFAFF Audi) had my TDi for a adblue sensor for 3 days and did not want to pay the cost of the rental/loaner.
Apparently loaners are not covered in the emissions warranty in Canada. Ended up paying for half the loaner cost out of pocket. Nothing significant but I'm worried if something major happens that requires them to keep my car for weeks.

Same dealer. Yes rentals are no longer covered, but got charged for 5 days only as a “good will” gesture. Overall very good experience with them in the last 7 years, and can’t really complain about driving a brand new Q7 for a month and being charged for 5 days....

Anyone have any experience with these? Easy enough to put on and take off yourself.

In regards to tdi warranty (I work at the dealer), I was on the last Audi region warranty call and they advised all warranty admins/service advisors to contact warranty for all tdi repairs that are still under the extended warranty as all covered items are not on the published list. I had 2 a3 tdi’s in 1 week that had failed water pumps, 1 was just a leak and was approved, the other vehicles pump seized causing the teeth on the belt to sheer off and pistons broke the camshaft, much more costly repair and they declined it. We fought it as they can’t approve one and not the other since both failed parts were the same, after some back and forth we were able to cover the repair and put a new head on it as the pistons were fine. Fortunately the other A3 was there or we probably wouldn’t of had a chance. It all depends on how hard your dealer wants to assist you.
