My 2013 mmi 3g plus has never been updated, both software and nav. I rarely use nav but when I do I see that streets I'm on are non existant etc. What is the best way to update to the latest database? Or is it a better option to get some form of carplay/android auto? Please share your opinion and experiences. Ty!

I did search. I was asking for opinions on what is the best options based on people's experiences between update and things like RSnav. I am aware of upgrademyaudi and that is the only thing discussed in the thread you linked.

I have an 8.5 and updated the maps, works well and I can stream Bluetooth from my phone as its 8.5; So don’t really feel the need to upgrade to RSNAV. I don’t feel it’s worth the money to be honest.

The only irritating thing about the default MMI 3GP is that google maps no longer works. It looks like some hackers are working on a fix for it though, so fingers crossed.
