Good afternoon everyone, strange issue after brake job. I just completed replacing all brake rotors and pads and today took the car out to bed them in. Prior to lifting the car I raised it in the MMI, engaged tire change, did the brakes over a couple weekends, set the car back on the ground, disengaged tire change, then lowered the car back down. No system faults everything appeared to be normal.

I took the car out and bedded the new brakes and on the way home I had an air suspension fault display. Scanned it and received the following faults in the suspension. One code from several days prior when the car was on jack stands but never powered up.

When I go back into the MMI it still thinks the car is in tire change setting. I turn it off, and then the air suspension fault returns.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

So the car is actually lowered to its usual height but the MMI thinks it's still raised? Try rebooting MMI after recharging battery?

Perhaps some level sensor broke when the car was on lift/jack and the suspension was extended. I think you can look what readings the level sensors give with VCDS measuring blocks or just visually check that they seem intact first.

Ah. Good idea on looking at the readings on the level sensors. Should have been an obvious troubleshooting but I certainly didn’t think of that. My thought was maybe one was damaged but they looked fine on visual inspection.

Battery is fully charged (was on a battery tender per RossTech instructions for rear ebrake). Restring MMI also worth a shot.

All level sensors give readings and also change as each corner of the car is rocked up/down.

Toggling through other available data in the advanced measurements screen under the level control module the voltage supply to the solenoid valve block is moving around from 0.000v to 11.340v and several readings in between. This does not see normal to me. Does anyone know if their system does this with the car not running?

Another curious setting I found is 081 activator _of_car_jack_mode-locked_position... shows active. There are 3 of these and only block 081 shows active.

Anyone have any knowledge they could bestow on me?

I thought you weren’t supposed to take it out of tire change until it was on the ground. In fact the tech told me that if you just do nothing after the car starts moving it will reset itself back to normal mode.

Have you tried re-engaging it. Lifting it up in the air. Then back on the ground resetting it?

Tire change mode was disengaged after it was on the ground. Then lowered back into comfort mode. Did around 10miles of driving then the suspension notification was thrown.

The car drives fine, suspension does not lose air while sitting, and the error returns (clear upon shutting car off) when attempting to change suspension settings or as soon as the car starts rolling.

I have replaced the front passenger level sensor and also put in a new battery. At this point I may just have to take it to Audi. It has to be a sensor, control module or the compressor.
